The Old Folks Home

Quote: He is so cute!! My boy(?) weighs about 30#, or at least looks that heavy as he runs for cover! Haven't seen him this year--maybe gone to heaven--he's been around for years. I always attributed the lack of bottoms on the tomatoes to him--maybe I've been blaming the wrong pest!

I have enough critters to care for without a woodchuck!

We do try to manage the farm in a live and let live manner. Work with the wild animals native to the area. FInd alternative methods to reduce their impact on our farm animals. THat sort of thing.

DH has a degree in WIldlife Management, and years ago I worked summers at a zoo. We understand both sides.

I am so excited, my home appraisal came back today and it was GOOD. What a weight off my shoulders.

They didn't mention my chicken coop (or the duck coop, chicken tractor, goat pen...), and it gave me enough equity to get rid of my PMI when the refi goes through.

Can't ask for anything better - I was starting to wonder when the good luck that I was due was going to come to fruition.

I'm sure it's a relief !

I am pretty sure goats are not supposed to like the rain. I made them go into the garage and have a cup of grain and get toweled off, but I have no idea what I'm doing with goats yet. Any ideas? The girl was shivering but was hard to get her to come in out of the rain and away from the delicious trees.
