The Old Folks Home

One of my TSC chicks has a slightly crooked beak. It doesn't affect her ability to eat or drink. What I want to know is if this is something that is heriditary, because I wouldn't want to hatch any of her eggs and pass it on if it is.

it can be hereditary, but the problem is it usually gets worse as they age.... so if she has it as a chick, by the time she grown up it might be so bad that she has trouble eating.

We has a Roo who's entire head was twisted and his had a cross beak but it didn't really bother him too much. We would hold him down occasionally and trim it with a dremel as it didn't wear down like most do. He was a great Roo. I miss him. We never used him for breeding but he had a great temperament and we really enjoyed him.

This was a great thread that I enjoyed when I had my cross beak.
