The Old Folks Home

Last time I went in they didnt ask for my card. If there is a pharmacy they cant refuse you entry because they dont require a card to make a pharmacy purchase.

At least here in California.

But all you have to do is tell em you need to get a temporary. They will let you through the gate to do that then all you have to do is wander in through to find your family. Done that before....

Its really no skin off their nose... because you cannot purchase anythihng without a card.

FWIW their alcahol section is AWESOME.

I have a Sam's membership card but, I hate having to flash it just to get in. So I go in the exit and tell the person standing guard that I'm just going to lunch. They let anyone in if you are headed for the lunch counter. They also let you in IF you are getting prescriptions there. I don't know why they make any fuss, if you don't have a card you don't get the advertised prices. Oh yah we go in for the free food tastings. For Cinco de Mayo last year they had a mariachi band and food samples.

once a month they have free health screenings, always on a Saturday, and the senior bus doesn't go on weekends. Oh Poo. They do bp, glucose, BMI, vision tests, bone density, and some others - some times its predominantly female type of tests and other times for men. I don't believe you need a member card for that either. You can also go to customer service and ask for a day pass to see if it would be worth joining

BTW I do eat at the lunch counter a hot dog & BIG pop combo is $1.63 - it's a good hot dog too. They also have slices of pizza and other stuff but I only get the hot dog because I figure cheap stuff doesn't have as much calories.

If you walk in with a person who is a member they don't care. Or IF the person with the card buys stuff you want.

Our lunch counter is outside the building.

How do!

Guess I qualify to join the party here but I also try hard to practice that little bon motte about age being a state of mind.

Then again being of a certain age demographic maybe I have way too many Yoda (& Vader) quotes swimming around in there with all the others from my many books of quotes. :D

Welcome! Age is a state of mind! And for the record I'm 29.

That's my story and I tell it how I want.

Olivia Ellen Elizabeth Strong finally arrived.

Now I have to wait THREE WHOLE WEEKS before I get to see her in person.

Congratulations! I know you are thrilled. If it would help, I could send you some sewing projects to keep you busy.......
I'm spelled Jody... the boy's spelling. It's fine with me, suits me much better.

Got my table runner finished.

Beautiful, SCG! An egg for every season!

I didn't make all of it this weekend, just the table runner and finished up binding the place mats.

Wonderful! I wish (there I go again) I had time to learn to sew. I have three sewing machines that I have inherited, and can't use any of them.

Lol Alaskan! used to get pulled over a lot for some reason during my wild younger days, 55mph? I thought it was the suggested speed I'm sorry.....I always got a lot of crap from State Troopers cause my license shows my first initial and the first letter of my second initial L A and my 14 letter last name, WHAT IS YOUR NAME! WHY ISN'T IT ON HERE!

geez dude, there wasn't room for it all I'm sorry....
I've gotten out of so many tickets it isn't funny, "WOW, I was really going that fast! didn't feel like it, I usually drive a piece of crap stone quarry truck this is my girlfriends car it rides so smooth I didn't know I'm sorry I never speed check my record, never had a ticket" Of course I never did they kept telling me to 'slow it down have a nice day' Lol!

My last name is hyphenated and has 15 letters counting the hyphen. My first is short but with my middle name, there are 12 letters. My DL has my name on two lines.

Welcome to TOFH! We are glad you are here and hope you enjoy the group. When you join, we want you to post a pic of one of your meals, a person you find attractive, and of your coop and/or chickens. It's not a requirement, it's a tradition!
