The Old Folks Home

@Bunnylady
Yeah, there is some sick bridges down there, the wife would close her eyes and put her head down lol. We've been through Savannah a few times on the way to Florida. I think the worse ones though for her was the ones you go over to get to Folly beach S.C., went there just to see the sun rise lol it was awesome!
Worse part for me was the white knuckle ride through the Shenandoah valley on 81 keeping up with traffic at 85mph in the hammer lane during a rainstorm. We have mountains here but we don't drive 85+ on them lol. Good thing the wife slept through it she would have had me doing 50 and I wanted to get HOME! My forearms hurt for a week after that death grip on the steering wheel for an hour.

On showgirls and turkens, I think they look a bit weird... but probably easier to pluck. How do those feathers come off? Processing four roosters yesterday reminded me of what a pain plucking can be...

I think they're amazing meat birds... the reason being for me - they have less feathers, although if you scald them right plucking isn't a big deal... but they have ZERO HAIR. I despise the hair. Even with a blowtorch you can't get it all off. Turkens (at least the line I have) don't have that hair. Makes for a really nice neat clean carcass.

Oooh for you quilters out there:

Neat-o!

Good article bout the stinkbugs. I'm so sick of them. They're everywhere. They get in the house and I can hear them flying around my room at night.
Day 20 on my hatch and I have one out and four pipped.

Would stink bugs, go after those sticky fly tapes. I'm always surprised what I find in mine - ladybugs, bees, lightning bugs (in the house??) mosquitoes, and sometimes a fly or two.

If you watched the GIF you would see an anatomically correct physiologically accurate horse galloping....

really cool on the quilt there and the special effects.

We vacationed in Woodstock, Vermont. Never had seen a covered bridge before (well, native Californian) and I had a bit of trepidation even walking through the one near our B&B.
Driving across CA draw bridges, the ones in Alameda have you whirring and shimmying sideways no matter what speed on their metal grating. Terrifying as they're narrow and there's oncoming traffic.

Ugh on stinkbugs. They're the bane of squash plants. Captain Jack's Dead Bug Brew (shameless plug) is somewhat an organic means to thwart them It's a spinosad (sp) spray. Spinosad is a bacteria leftover from, I believe, rum distilling which affects their nervous systems much like bac T does....they consume it and spasm to death.

Never had much of an opinion on SG's and turkens EXCEPT how neat they'd be for slaughter via beheading. Sorry. Actually, Show Girls are kinda cute, but just not my cup o' tea.

Spinosad--is recommended for getting rid of mites now too!
