The Old Folks Home

I'm happy you like the birds I sent you SCG.

vehve I keep looking at your pic with your SS Rooster looking at your rabbit in a cage and I can't help but think "Your rooster and rabbit are thinking this should be the other way around".

Usually rabbits run free and chickens are in pens or cages.

The chickens are more obedient

Eemeli hasn't been outside the fence a single time. The girls sometimes venture outside, but they stick pretty close to the yard too. If I were to let the bunnies out, all bets would be off.

I do understand. I was just saying their instinct's are telling them (it should be the other way around).
I was just kidding vehve. I just think it's funny.

Yeah, it does look a bit backwards. I'd love to be able to let the bunnies out though, it would be fun to see them run around the yard. But it's too risky. I might build some sort of enclosure where they can move about in a slightly larger area though.

Puddin, the chicks are mutts, so it's a bit of a surprise. This is the parent stock. She's an olive egger Heinz 57, he's a SS.
I love the color of the roo.

I have some mixes too that I am anxious to see grow out.

This girl is a Silver Phoenix/Salmon Favorelle mix.

She's 5 weeks. Can't wait to see her final coloring.

She has a bit more brown in her than our suspected roo chick, very pretty. The little boy seems to have brown lacing, while the girls seem to mainly be black, with a bit of a brown shine to them. It will be very interesting to see how these grow out too.

We had a couple of rabbits that my dad brought home. They ran loose in our backyard only because we had 12' cinder-block walls all the way around the yard. Every now and then a neighborhood cat would come get one of the babies. We had a German Shepard and a crow with a broken wing in the back yard and they all played together and took turns chasing each other. It was fun to watch.

I thought it was just lower animals like arthropods but apparently it can happen in turkeys and chickens.

Like at traffic court this morning. They have one just for red light camera tickets. The judge told us that there are no points assessed and if one doesn't pay, they won't issue a warrant for your arrest. So why do you have to pay? If you don't show up, they just give you another court date. If you do show up and can't pay, they give you another court date.
Kicking the can down the road.
