The Old Folks Home

So cool. Do you have plastic or wax foundation?
I have one wired wax frame in a hive that I got drawn out from a fellow bee club member to help start the package I installed. Everything else is plastic foundation in wooden frames. When I get to the point of putting on the 2nd deep and the honey supers, I "hope" to be using 1/3 or 1/2 sheets of plastic centered in the wooden frames along with foundation-less frames intermingled so I get natural comb. That way I'll be able to have some comb honey for use and sale.

Up till recyclable bottles we used to pay a deposit on our soft drink bottles... Then wed take em back to the store and get our deposit back... Those bottles went back through the loop again several times... you could tell because there would be acutal wear on the glass...

I remember cashing in on bottles to get candy.... LOL.

As a kid, I scavenged returnable bottles from all around town. Used to cheer when I/we'd find one of the large quart size beer bottles

I was never hurting for $$ until I got older and started holding down full time jobs... Wonder if there's an epiphany in there someplace

Life is like a bowl o'....

First harvest. Birds were workin' the tree, so I knew they were ready.
Bought some vanilla ice cream, so cherries jubilee tonight!

MMMM! WOW! If my cherry trees didn't die

they would just be getting done with flowering right now...I've lost a lot of trees, apple, pear, cherry, plum, peach, some have lived, thought I figured it out and it was aphids, have spray for pests to late last year, but the more I research I think it could have also been fire blight. I will be mixing the pesticide spray with the copper sulfide spray and hopefully I can get these darn things to live! Just planted another apple and pear, if they and the ones that are left continue to grow I will replace the rest

Have a yellow transparent, two nova spy, one of them is barely hanging on, one honey crisp, one sweet sixteen, one bartlett pear, and one black tartarian cherry barely hanging on also left. Lost a dozen others

Yep... I don't know how many trees I planted that died... But none doed from disease...

Rabbits and rodents stripping the bark off... And then the gloriously cold and super long winters followed by very cold summers...
