The Old Folks Home

SCG..the fish that our daughter caught is at Fish Lake. Imagine that..Fish Lake. That's what it's called! Beautiful area, but fear that DiDi would NOT want to go there in the spring. She would be one of the summer folks for sure. It stays chilly up there for a while.

That's a hilarious name! I think all y'all (including Alaskan, s/he can come laugh) should come visit me in January.

Do you promise there will be enough snow?

FYI

Farm innovators 2200 incubator is on sale (65% off) at Flemmings Outdoors. It's with a fan. A good cheap option for an emergency hatcher.

Fish lake, missed that Lol! Been fishing this pond down the road since I was a kid, don't know if it is man made or natural. Didn't know it was in the shape of a fish until I was google maping the area a few yrs ago, and everybody I ask that has fished there if they knew doesn't. Must be you can't notice ground level. Lol.

@Beer can
 your "Fish Lake" looks kinda like an old quarry, is it deep

I bet your right. I never heard it was a old quarry but we have many of them around. The bluestone/natural cleft flagstone industry is big in this area. My father always says he'll never lease one from someone talking about a pond again, he lost two good ones that way. Farmers are the best landowners. Right now he's leasing one from a little old lady and pays her land tax on 180 acres every year, she's happy to have him.
This is one he worked in for ten yrs with a three way partnership and a couple employees. Gave the landowner (rich people always acted like they were stealing from them) gave them around $45,000 a yr in royalty.

Then he heard about a guy who was digging a pond and hit bluestone on the surface, tried to work it himself but didn't know what he was doing. The guy only gave my dad a yr lease. He figured if he proved he could make $ they guy would renew the lease, nope, kicked him out after he spent thousands on stripping and building a good road, the guy had to have his pond.

Great stories and pictures @Beer can

Thanks for the tip @ChickenCanoe

Me... I am all kinds of DANG.... Etc. my boys are running and working every which way... I need TWO of the big ones home at the same time, so that I can move my chicken tractor...so that I can shift chicks around... So that I can get the set that are in the house, and STINK and keep flying out of their brooder... OUTSIDE! :barnie

I did just get rid of 11 chickens for 25 bucks.... Bargain basement price, since I can't get my two boys that butcher for me, at home at the same time for four hours together!

I sure am proud of my hard workers.... But it is slowing me down. :D

I should be able to strap down a few boys on Sunday.... So I will have to put up with the chicks until then...... Unless I decide to use the little tractor...... I just might....hummmmmmm. It should do for a few days.
