Alaskan: did you feel the earthquake?

nope! Didn't feel it.... I am in Texas... In a house set to 77 which is a bit cool during the day, but perfect for sleeping at night. It is lots hotter outside.... Perfect for brisk walks!!! DANG is it nice!

Except for the fact that my parents have no coffee maker!!!

But while I was back on the frozn tundra, we had a 6. Something earthquake... And I didn't feel that one either :idunno which is a tiny bit odd.... I would think that even I could notice a 6. :idunno

My mom says she will force me back on the plane.... I don't get to stay here -sigh-

Anyway, I have busy enough that I have only gotten to chck in on BYC at most once a day... And I just can't keep up.

Sure is nice to be missed and appreciated though!

There were several rescues overnight. I don't think anyone drown.

We usually average 2.25 inches for the month of June. We've already smashed the record for the wettest June here which was 12.25 inches.
Up till yesterday we had 26 inches of rain for the year.

A town in northwestern Missouri holds the world record for a high-intensity rain, having received 12 inches within a 42-minute period on June 22, 1947.

Whoa, quite a lot of rain, CC.

The all time record in Finland is 198mm during a 24 hours period, that was somewhere in Espoo (about 20 km from here), and the record is from 1944. We tend to get a steady supply of rain instead of massive amounts at a time usually.

And when it comes to Al's gender, I think hesheit prefers the ambiguous himherit.

The next town north of me is Alton, Illinois. There's a favorite watering hole there called Fast Eddies. They have good cheap pub fare. burgers, peel 'n' eat shrimp, steak kabobs, etc..

We went there for Father's day lunch because both the kids had to work Sunday night. The southbound lanes of the highway from Alton are completely under water so we had to drive a long way out of our way to reach another bridge returning home.
The next day, the Dept. of Transportation split the northbound lanes into 2 directions cause so many people drive from there to work in St. L.
