The Old Folks Home

The cat tale I remember is when I lived in a big farm house with lots of windows and doors in the front room. Not a lot of wall space. I had an aquarium and a cat. In the tank was an exotic cat fish with front fins that stuck out stiff. One day I heard a rucus in the room and went to check it out. Well, the cat was on top of the curtains with huge amounts of foam coming out of his mouth and the room looking like he had done a few high speed laps around it at top of window height. The fish was on the floor squacking loudly. After I got the fish back in the tank and made sure it was ok and the cat off the top of the window and checked over to make sure he was also ok, I had a good laugh. That cat never went fishing in an aquarium again. Getting "finned" in the mouth by a cat fish is not so fun from a cats point of view.
Getting speared by a cat fish is not fun for anyone! It really hurts and those are not fins!

Ouch!

Many years ago, we had a Talking Catfish.
A talking catfish? What exactly did he have to say.

I lost 2 kits after I finally went to bed. The other 2 seem to look like they've been fed. My doe seems more interested that she is in the house where she hasn't been in a year, so trying to keep her out of stuff. man what I night.

SCG, I know the lab rats are given cereal as a reward, but could it be that they have just been conditioned to accepting it, since that's what's offered? Your rat has probably not been caged to often. LOL I think I'd figure out where he goes and what he's looking for. Then I'd use that as bait, but they are smart and if he saw the demise of that leaf and bug, he may have figured out to NOT go near that thing. They can learn after just one time of going through a situation and if he was a witness to the mayhem he may have figured out to avoid it all together. I'd still try to bait him to it though for now. At least for as long as it's still sticky. Maybe you can set it in something, like a low bucket . That way it's covered enough to not pick up everything else and the bait would pull him in.
