The Old Folks Home

Got the top for dad's quilt finished this morning. My sister had it 99% done - I just had to add the top and bottom borders and fix a couple seams where she didn't get all the fabric all the way caught in the seam.

Off to go find a backing for that one and the parasol that I showed yesterday. Already found a bear/tree/moose pattern to quilt it in.

Were the fabrics from some of his clothes or just chosen because you two thought he would like them?
I bet there is Veteran's organization or Senior Services organization that could find a great home for it.

I have to admit I have skipped over a few pages. Went out today to give the new lens a spin. Pretty happy with the results.

Girl, if you weren't happy with those results, I'd say you need therapy! Gorgeous!

BB2K and I spent half an hour catching a loose rabbit today. Here's the funny part - none of ours were out of their cages. This one wasn't one of ours! Well, she might at one time have been; she's a Jersey Wooly, and I have had Jersey Woolies for about 30 years. But I haven't had a litter of Woolies in, oh, I guess about 4 years, so if she is one of my babies, she's from a while back . . . . I guess someone just didn't want her any more. She's a matted up mess it's going to take a bit of work to make her presentable.

I have a wonderful dematting comb... It has round smooth hooks the only massage the skin... inside the hooks ar like seam ripper cutters. matts are often times just dead hair any way. My last cat Miss Petunia developed matts that were close to her skin but you couldnt tell because of the long hair disguised it. I tried cutting them out but it was a hit and miss process.

The comb was wonderful she kneeded bread the whole time and it was the first time I had ever heard her pur. When I was done you couldnt tell because the slick hair just layed down ... I had a ball of fir about the size of her... I could tell where I had cut with scissors though.

de matting comb is perminantly in my Critter grooming care arsenal.... even if I never have cats again.
