Isn't duck poop water wonderful! Not so good for root plants tho, they suck up that flavor, but good for all things that grow above ground. Have some stuff in the back barn where we kept 70+ chickens about 3 years ago, ought to be primo this year. Plus whatever you have under ducks, straw, hay, is good for between rows, much, much less acidic than chickens. Just don't let it touch the stems of the plants just in case.

Thought I would get some photos of my tree in blossom. It is sprinkling, but is supposed to rain harder. I worry about the blossoms falling off. I can not for the life of me know what this purple tree is called. Then got some shots of my tulips..my favorite flower. Have to get some of these off to my son in GA. My bleeding heart bush is doing great this year too!



This bush is just starting to blossom. I love this bush. Big pink blossoms.

Tulips! I need to thin them out..and plant some more big ones.

They make me smile. )

Very pretty! All my daffodils are done blooming and my Iris. I now wait on my lillies. But I planted some daisies so that they can take over the beds in between the bulbs and for the summer and into fall.

I think you two are right! I looked them up, and found a lot that look just like mine..like this one...

I was going to say redbud too! We have them around here, in the yard and in the woods, and in these parts they signal that morel season is underway

The clincher would be, if in the fall your tree is covered in dangly seedpods that look like paper thin, dark brown snowpea pods. That is 100% redbud behavior,

Around here, the morel season is absolutely under way when the redbuds have leaves like mouse-ears! And even though it's a month late, this has proven true. I have about a quart of them ready to cook, and I'm going to go look for more today. We'll get rain for the next 3 days, so that'll keep them coming!! Wheeeeee!!!

Sparkle the House Silkie has been trying to kick her HUGE chicks (not hers, they were flock eggs I gave her) to the curb but they love her too much. She also started laying again three days ago.

Today she announced her latest egg VERY loudly and for over ten minutes. For such a diminutive chicken, she sure can bellow the news! She doesn't sing the usual Egg Song like other hens.

Is this a silkie trait? I've only had one silkie pullet before but she met an unfortunate end before she reached point of lay.

Sparkle is still going on and on about it.... Oh, there she... Nope... Just took a breath, apparently.
