I have 4 out now--one Trader Joes and three from Whole foods.

The chicks from whole foods are much bigger--or fluffier?

They are all yellow.

Time to get the brooder set up!

I will have to use two if more than 20 hatch.

I didn't say I don't appreciate it, I was just a bit disturbed by the video. Ha! Ha! Ha! I am like Deb, I like lots of different music, but I do prefer music that doesn't make me mad or give me nightmares.

Quote: We will have black eyed peas (dried, from Walmart) and cornbread, as well. Would love to have a "mess of greens" but only DH and I will eat it and he won't eat but one serving. I will try to find some and cook them the first week in April.

ROLL TIDE
Roll Tide!! Won, not done!

Happy New Years all. Best wishes for all in the coming year!

Ditto, and to you, too, Joe!

The bagged beans once soaked can be planted. That is where I get my black eye peas for the garden

Ham hocks, black eyed peas, collard greens, cornbread, neck bones and rice, and grilled pork tenderloin on our new years menu tomorrow. What is traditional for yall?

Greens & black-eyed peas = luck & money if eaten on Jan 1st.... or so the superstition goes. We have it every New Year's Day.

We're having upwards of 20 folks over tomorrow for a Tamale & Pernil party and, yes, the above greens & BEP will be served along with rice. (Pernil = shredded Puerto Rican pork roast on tortillas).
