The Old Folks Home

Wisher, I didn't know you worked in Reno. I almost died with the hip thrusts part.

I learned the alphabet backwards when I was little. I can say it backwards a heck of a lot faster than forwards. I've always wanted to have a cop ask me to do it so I can impress them. Fortunately, I'm law abiding, so I rarely run into cops giving me questions like that. I run into cops frequently on account of work, but I'm on the "good" end of those interactions, thank goodness.

i have my aunts voice (shes a poultry collector a serious chicken junkie) carries very well through the neighborhood. all the kids stop dead when i yell for my daughter or yell cause shes being bad. with my aunt being a chicken junkie and we just starting.. im beginning to see why she is a junkie.. i cant wait to get my hands on my girls.. i really want a lovey tame roo
Most of my roosters are good boys. Lovey dovey no, not yet. Hope you find a lovey tame roo, too.

Oh, do I have "war stories" too. 35 total years working in Public Safety Communications, 31 of 'em taking 9-1-1 calls, have given me plenty of tales to share.

Right now, for the Memorial Day weekend, 80% of the entire uniformed officers of the CHP are working. This is one of seven Maximum Enforcement Periods (MEP) per year. No quotas - they can cite as many people as they want. :lau

I'll stop bragging..... But I am pretty fun at gatherings, with lots of funny, sad, exciting, terrifying and (I think) interesting incidents to share. Full spectrum, from stupid thirty-second 9-1-1 calls to major events like the Loma Prieta and Northridge earthquakes, the Pebble Beach Fire, and even the Pope's Visit to Monterey AND the Pointer Sisters and Beach Boy Concerts. All from B.C. - Before Chickens.

Oops, okay NOW I am done bragging about my past. For the moment. ;)

I have poultry drama now. I love it better.

Oh Linda, you have earned your peace with with chickens!! Any time people are involved -- crazy things happen.

YEs, and DH has been fielding phone calls from work all day. I often wished he had become a lawyer instead of a civil servant. Our civil servants are under appreciated.

So hats off to all those working this weekend so that the public can enjoy a weekend packed with activites for Memorial Day weekend.

Was that sobriety test real or candid camera? The guy was great - he should be in show biz and to think he had a full bladder. Fantastic!!

That video was hilarious. I laughed so hard at this photo from one of my FB chicken pages that I had to share it:

Aha! Contact Chickmagnet9 - she has one that needs a new home! She is in Sacramento, raised Prince Henry, a love bug Easter Egger roo just turning a year old. He happens to be the son of my dominant roo, Carl, and inherited his good attributes and looks! Gentle on the hens, as well. Here is her post with photos. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...ince-harry-hes-one-of-greyeyes-grandsons/0_50
