The Old Folks Home

I got into my beehive today! (After working a full day, mind you).

I didn't want to disturb them too much cause I just hived them on Friday, but I had to make sure the queen had been released.

She had been, and they're starting to build comb!! They were really docile considering I just ripped the top of their home off and started digging around in there.

These little creatures are so amazing.

Which ones... house or hive? Well both... no.

I put cinnamon in the hive today. Hopefully it won't interfere with the queen scent and make my hive abscond. But it's what I read works.

The bathroom ants took the poison and there appears to be a lull in the ant activity in there.

I know. It's so hard to have a discussion about small teats with a group of like minded adults. However, since I'll be getting intimate with those teats on at least a daily basis, they need to be something of ample size for squeezing. THE MILK OUT OF.

So, you are not interested in the dwarfs at all. They are so darn cute though. And, you have to have them thar goats with spots? :) They are really cute with the spots, have to say. Man, I was reading on that one ad I posted,.what was it..almost a half gallon of milk..or was it a gallon? That's a lot, either way. What do you do with your milk? Do you drink goats milk? Or do you use it for other things, or both?
My third baby, could not drink anything, not even that soy stuff. Finally, goats milk got brought up. I looked on the shelves for goats milk. What? This was in the 80's, and I'm sure it's even more expensive now. Anyway, looked in the newspaper for someone that needed their goats milked. Found someone. Made the 15 min. drive, learned how to squeeze, and got a lot of milk. Only had to go a couple of times a week, until they went on vacation, then I came in handy for them.
And Yes, my baby handled the goats milk. Good thing, I thought they were going to have to put him in the hospital to thrive.

Since the subject is goats, I have to share these. Another chicken friend has brand new babies!
