The Old Folks Home

I think the mandatory road insurance on the Nissan is around 400€ or something, and then we have a full coverage package on top of that, I think it's around 1200€, but due to not crashing into stuff etc we're at the top 70% bonus class, so we only pay 30% of the price, bringing the total to like 700ish for the car. We've gotten good use out of it too, since they pay for a rental and towing etc, even when you've caused the problem yourself, like when a certain someone who usually drives a petrol car went to fuel up the diesel and out of habit picked the same nozzle he always does... God I felt stupid walking into the gas station telling them that I'll be leaving my car in the middle of their meter field and a tow truck will be by to pick it up in a few hours. The feeling was slightly mitigated by the information that I wasn't the first one that day. It had been a long day and I was totally spaced out when I started fueling it. Still cost me a couple hundred to get the fuel tank cleaned properly.

IN California you are only required by law to carry Liability insurance for the car. The price of that insurance is different depending on how old you are your record and gender. Also Where your residence is. Bad or good neighborhood.

The one that requires full coverage for repairs and such is the Bank that actually owns the car if you are making payments.

Yeah, you don't need any full coverage insurance here either, but it gives you a bit of ease of mind. For when Karin goes deer hunting with the front bumper etc.

SCG I agree. Those sweet meat squash sound like a version of Hubbard. I can't wait to try the ones I sent you. You're still sharing right?

Is car insurance individual there? Here it covers a car with any driver.
What happens is the insurance company convinces people that they need to list the drivers in the house. In California, you do not have to do that. If you do list the new driver, they then charge more insurance.

Some are even convinced that the insurance will not cover an accident if a listed driver is not driving. Once again, that is not legal in California.
