I think the mandatory road insurance on the Nissan is around 400€ or something, and then we have a full coverage package on top of that, I think it's around 1200€, but due to not crashing into stuff etc we're at the top 70% bonus class, so we only pay 30% of the price, bringing the total to like 700ish for the car. We've gotten good use out of it too, since they pay for a rental and towing etc, even when you've caused the problem yourself, like when a certain someone who usually drives a petrol car went to fuel up the diesel and out of habit picked the same nozzle he always does... God I felt stupid walking into the gas station telling them that I'll be leaving my car in the middle of their meter field and a tow truck will be by to pick it up in a few hours. The feeling was slightly mitigated by the information that I wasn't the first one that day. It had been a long day and I was totally spaced out when I started fueling it. Still cost me a couple hundred to get the fuel tank cleaned properly.
