What's blooming in northern Illinois?!

Native plants:
Two colors of violets (state flower of Illinois)

purple trillium and trout lilies

Things I planted:
bluebells, tulip, red bud tree

Magnolia Jane bud and blooms and Bradford pear blooms

...and chicks!!

Icelandic hen Gula and Buff Orp chick (one of five she hatched for a friend):

Mary, oh YES, the Redbud tree - we have one in full bloom now - dainty and yet makes an impact. My mom loved them. We have several that seeded the area but, the utility folks came around and cut them down because allegedly they would someday reach the high electric wires. Horse hockey. Redbuds don't get very tall and the tree service would know that. But hey, they make money cutting them down.

To whom may be concerned and Alaskan - good news, Not only did I get the right kind of ice cream this time BUT, it didn't have any ice crystals.

I have the 48 oz. - 75 % consumed but, was able to put the rest away, so I would experience some joy tomorrow in having a bit of leftovers. (tomorrow is NOT a grocery day)

thank you all for caring.

@drumstick diva Ice cream...what I know....if it's in the house, I will eat it...no matter the flavor. I'm glad you didn't have any ice crystals from your "soft purchase"!

@chickadoodles I love your flower boxes, and fence!! Be sure to get a picture when each one is blooming.

@superchemicalgirl Do you have any? I know I have a small seedling near the "mother plant" I could send you. They are Virginia bluebells and are hardy to zone 3.
