The Old Folks Home

I am always highly suspicious of anything that pretends to be something that it isn't.
Like fake meat.

My son was a chef at a vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant. They made a lot of fake meat.

Oh my - silly Pip, thank goodness help was just a phone call away (and you had your phone).

X 2 - I got stuck in the coop one day -- DS had gone out with me to do chores and what not. Well, he got bored before I was done so he went back up to the house, latching the door behind him like a good boy....from the OUTSIDE (I always latch the inside latch while we are in the coop if it's a time we don't want the birds out ranging around).....didn't even occur to me at the time, was all wrapped up in what I was doing. Got done with the chores, turned to leave and SURPRISE! The pop door is the only other way out of there and there is no way *I* will fit through there. I didn't have my phone with me and the coop sits way out on the back side of the pasture so I just had to sit there and hang out with the birds and wait for someone to miss me. Given that I tend to spend a lot of time out there anyway no one thought to come looking for me, finally the neighbor guy happened to come out to his garden plot which was within in yelling distance to the coop so I got his attention and he rescued me.....I was about to give up and scale the wall between coop and stall, but that would have meant taking down the wire we have across the top gap and then making a 12 foot drop into the stall......which didn't sound like much fun to me. You better believe I had a release wired up the next day.
I've learned over time to make all coops with door latches that operate from inside and out.

Thanks to my supporters, my trip to the grocery store was successful. I found my Rocky road ice cream - the guy said it was the last one. It was also pretty squishy. They were doing inventory and most of the stock was out of the freezer in grocery carts. But, trooper that I am - I took it anyway. Probably all ice crystals and stuff but the flavor I set out to get.

Congrats on the score.

I loooove bluebells.
We're loaded up with them now.

My coop doors have latches that have to be manipulated, not auto-locks. I use low tech to keep them closed when working in the coops - bungee cords! I hook one end to the door and the other to the wall.

dog kennel panels now.... so I do something similar. the latches work from either side but some times they can be a pain. So I use bailing twine tied off for a quick secure close. I also use it to secure the bottoms of the door because the Goats would BREAK IN for a snack.....

Next go round Goats wont have a chance between the cattle panels and the HOT WIRE....

Not a farm my daffodils have already bloomed and I think the purple iris have also. The white are going slow to open I will try to get another pic when more of them open up.

Thanks on the fence and bed. Dh built those years ago. I love them too.

The deck chair contraption is pure genius!

@drumstick diva - very relieved to hear the ice cream was not damaged, nothing worse than getting all excited about ice cream only to find it is full of crystals
