The Old Folks Home

Is this more than one chick? They are all looking like this? eek...

I have 10 dark cornish and 2 look like this. A couple other aren't really wonderfully feathered out, but some look really nicely feathered, with exception of the naked tummies, which is "normal" for cornish.

I believe they're dark cornish and not cornish cross. Maybe I should lower the protein?

I've never had cornish..at least, I haven't hatched any, or had them in my back yard. I wonder if I've eaten any.

Too much protein can cause that?

I've read that it can for the Cornish X because they grow too fast and the feathers cant keep up. That's not what it looks like in this case, but I do feed high protein to the kids... I could back down and see if that helps.

Anyone ever raise dark Cornish?

Is this amount of nakedness normal? They're about 7 weeks old.

Don't get me wrong, I loooove me some naked freakazoid chickens. But this just seems... not right. I've never kept birds inside this long. I'm afraid to take these out to the coop for fear they'll get pecked and it will become a bloody nightmare.
on the bright side. easy to process
