The Old Folks Home

Anyone have a good book they'd recommend, preferably fiction... ?

Woke up this morning to the bottom of my right foot sore and bruised. I can hardly walk. I'll have to suffer through my work shift today, but should be resting and taking it easy until Tuesday. Would love to spend most of that time with a good book. The last one that I couldn't put down was The Bronze Horseman.

No idea why my foot's bruised, I recall stepping funny yesterday because my cross-eyed, cross-beaked rooster is constantly underfoot, and I almost stomped him yesterday, but I wouldn't think that would cause this level of pain. It's an adventure getting old, with new aches and pains that are of unknown origin arriving daily.

cynthia, I hope you get your olive-egg-laying hen. I'd like one of those, too. I guess my problem is "so many breeds, so little coop space."

superchemicalgirl, sorry I can't recommend a book -- I usually read non-fiction. I hope your foot is better soon!

I have fewer aches and pains since dumping all the breads and pastas and rice and milk. About 100-120 carbs a day as lettuce, tomatoes, blueberries and nuts and legumes etc helps the body regulate the eiso _______ correctly. Even though I am very overweight I am full of energy. I figure I need this body to last another 40-50years!

THe last book I read was THe SPY by Clive Cussler.

Seriously, Shades of Gray, all three. I read them all in four days and I was working full time. Then I read the Hunger Games trilogy which was pretty good but it took me much longer (a week and a half and I was on vacation.)

Thanks for the suggestions, but the whole thing appears moot. Got major chills last night, had to break out the heated blanket to survive, woke up this morning feeling like death on a soda cracker. Just managed to peel myself out of bed.

My goal for the day is to put the dishes in the dishwasher and go back to bed.

SCG--- sounds like you need to see a doctor.

Sorry you don't feel well. Hot chicken soup with lots of black pepper is what's in order. Fresh chicken is best, but canned will do in a pinch. Don't forget the black pepper, it is what makes the difference. I hope you feel much better this evening.
