The Old Folks Home

You're a strange one mr grinch.

Always has been on here. Oh wait, this is a new member. That was a different bamadude right? Maybe he has a twin brother.

Yes, it is common. I have no idea why but women will address a mixed group as "Hi guys" and will do the same with a group of all girls. MANY years ago I passed a group of females in the hall at work walking in the opposite direction, I knew all of them. Kind of hard to list all the names as you approach and pass so I said "Hi Ladies". One took offense, apparently with some people "lady" equates to "lady of the evening"

No idea who bamadude is :idunno I'll call just about anyone "guys", my family, friends, strangers etc.. The only time I don't do it is if it doesn't seem respectful to do so. But even though I do respect you guys, (hah I just did it again ) I call you "you guys" because you're all friendly and it's just casual.

Why would a girl be offended by someone calling her a lady? Unless it was said in a derogative or patronising way. Weird.

When I get off the senior bus I always say "Bye girls." Everyone seems cool with that - except any guy on the bus (rarely evident)

Ahhhh, good to have another Dude in the Home...... I hope this one knows how to behave better than the last one. Lsky, we lost our last beloved Bamadude, and miss him terribly. He was killed by an angry mob when he lost his filter. We all knew him and loved him, and that weak filter was part of his charm. But alas, it was too much for some and he was slew.

May we have a moment of silence in his memory......

Amen
