Yeah, keep looking, deals come up, I saw this just a few months after I bought a Hova, could have got a brinsea 40 for less, the 20 half what I paid, you never know, on our local thread, she might still have them but I doubt it at those prices, she still was keeping a pair of 20's and a 40, and a Hova...... some people are hatch crazy....

Check to make sure they have fertile eggs at that store. It is hit and miss with them.

A few years ago I had someone driving to Boston get me TJ eggs. They were not fertile :(

I tried anyway.

I think I'll do the NYD hatch this year, think I'm ready to get back into hatching. I know I want some more turkens, I'm down to 2 (my originals) and a showgirl.

@Beer can

I love the idea of the fast plucking with the naked necks........

But dude! I would have to look at them!

My thoughts exactly. I've heard they are great birds, but -

The TJ in St. L. doesn't carry fertile eggs and the dairy guy had never heard of it.
The Whole Foods does carry fertile eggs but by the time they get to the store, Julian date shows they were too old. I set them anyway but none hatched.
They come from a farm in Wisconsin, then ship to the distribution facility in Chicago, then to the stores here.
I may have to start selling fertile eggs to WF.

Sounds like it HAS muscles, but once it's out of it's high pressure environment at the bottom of the sea, it's muscles aren't strong enough to move it.

You pull it out of the depths and it is DOA. No way it can handle the pressure change.

@ronott1 know how I said our sturgeon population was doing pretty good, rebounding? Just reading in New York Outdoor News that the Mohawk tribe found eleven of the huge fish gutted in the St. Lawrence river. Only eggs taken. They're not too happy. The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne on the Canadian side and the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe on the American side are holding the investigation. Must be they have their own Conservation and Environmental departments and police services cause those are the only contact #s here and Canadian listed. Must be our DEC/ECO isn't involved.

I hope they catch the perps, gut them and remove any eggs they find. Then throw them on the side of the road.

I know it is a popular store and they finally put in a TJs here a couple of years ago. I went to check it out. Totally unimpressed, don't know what the fuss is about, haven't been back. We buy stuff at the natural food store on the other side of the common access road. Been around for many years, locally owned and EVERYONE who works there is SUPER helpful. No big corporate salaries to pay there.
