sure hope it lives up to it's name

@ronott1 know how I said our sturgeon population was doing pretty good, rebounding? Just reading in New York Outdoor News that the Mohawk tribe found eleven of the huge fish gutted in the St. Lawrence river. Only eggs taken. They're not too happy. The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne on the Canadian side and the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe on the American side are holding the investigation. Must be they have their own Conservation and Environmental departments and police services cause those are the only contact #s here and Canadian listed. Must be our DEC/ECO isn't involved.

I got the Hova with the new IncuTurn from incubaterwarehouse, rolls the eggs and any size egg from quail to goose nothing to change, $200 shipped. Was disappointed in how cheesy it is, IMHO not worth half that. I did have a great hatch for my first time though.
If I had to do it all over again I'd have built one. Incubaterwarehouse sells both desktop kits and cabinet kits with digital control and fan. I could have built a rock solid fridgerbator for less than I paid for that Hova. I'd get myself in serious trouble with DW though :-D
Feed is getting $$$ trying to get them culled down to just breeding stock, and abandoning silkie/giant project. Just keeping white giant's, a pair of white naked necks I'm going to add a few cornishX pullets, and a red/black naked neck cockerel to keep with the rest of the nakeds.
Life can be sooo frustrating! Thus I turn to memes - they make me smile and even laugh!
I'm happy to share pleasant vibes, but don't wish to annoy. Had to spend the last hour dealing with correcting young/old chicken integration issues - might have created/furthered egg eating! While computer (locked up) rebooted. Meme overload? Juggling life and chickens does not always go smoothly!

On the Sacramento river, it has been Russian Gangs that steal the roe for caviar. We have white sturgeon here and they are very special for caviar.

It is very sad!

@Beer can

This is a hova bator by GQF one of the washington thread recommended them
and the reviews on them where great and I am quite new to
incubation but tried and true with chickens from way back
in another life was DVM

If you haven't ordered a turner yet check out incubatorwarehouse IncuTurn, you leave it in for hatch, just thin plastic, cleans up easy.

From the alaska daily news:

At the 11th annual state fair pumpkin weigh-off Tuesday, Marshall's 1,469-pound gourd beat the previous record of 1,287 pounds set in 2011 by J. D. Megchelsen of Nikiski.

I wonder if they will throw it out to the chickens now.

Huge!

Cynthia, what did you do for her numbering? I think I've a cortinix that has one. She was wobbling around in the pen yesterday. I was going to process her at first, but when I inspected her, I think it's just bunblefoot. We are Loire on our quail count right now from losing several with our constant heatwaves all summer, so if I can save her at least long enough to get more eggs to incubate, that would be great. I've never had to deal with bumblefoot before.Any help is welcome. Thanks.

Do you mean numbing? No numbing needed. Just cover their heads with a towel. They settle down really well and handle it really well.
