I have my REA checking with the seller to see if he'd be willing to let me do a lease till close sort of deal. That would be a major time/money/anxiety saver for me! If we can work it out... I'll leave here Saturday morning and do two hotel nights, then set up my cot there on Monday. If we can't get it worked out, I guess I'll be doing an extended hotel stay.

Yes. http://www.trulia.com/property/3230547387-4147-County-Road-4260-Mount-Pleasant-TX-75455 Supposed to close on the 29th but still haven't received the appraisal, so close may move into October

Sweet! Looks like a nice area also! Little close to Dallas (I don't like cities...) but not too close.
Bet the area is a hunting and fishing paradise !

Uggh, on the move, we don't look forward to ever doing it again, we still have a room full of boxes from moving, and then getting the place, sure ain't like buying a car...

I can sympathize latestarter. DH and I bought our homestead in 09 and until 2014 when we retired, kept two homes and commuted back and forth 300 miles round trip. When we retired and closed our business it meant consolidating everything from it and our second home into our current home. We tried to sell what we could from our office and donated a lot out of the house to the local Cornerstone thrift shop but still I didn't think I would ever get through all the totes and boxes. In fact I still have 6 or 7 that are marked to be stored up in the barn loft as frankly, I have ran out of space inside.

The best advice anyone gave me was to look at moving as being a chance to go through stuff before you move it and get rid of anything that you haven't touched in the last 3 years. I did that with clothing and it helped a lot.

I still have totes that are stored in the attic waiting for me to go through them but I wanted to obtain a sense of normality as quickly as possible so I just made sure there was nothing important in them as far as running the house or farmn was concerned and everything else went out of sight out of mind so to speak.

I'm starting to think that moving is a task for those under 40 because this move really whipped my backside, especially since I managed to survive it with an injured back. We have new neighbors moving into the farm next door. BIG family. Something like 6 or 7 kids. Nice Christian people who are moving down to Missouri from North Dakota. I do not envy them them the task ahead of them. I told DH this was it. The only way I was moving again was if a tornado took out our roof and then we would live in the barn, LOL. 100 feet away is about all I can manage.

The last time I moved to a new place I was 39--It was across town but was still a bear! Moving from Corning to Woodland was terrible though. We did it over a couple of weeks using a pickup and a trailer. The oldest daughters were toddlers too. I had to do most of it because my Wife had started her new job teaching.
