The Old Folks Home

The winds blow so hard year round off and on I have to do an X with rope over the top of anything tarped... I tarp over the top of chainlink roofs.... So the X give the tarp extra support. my coop roof is twenty by twelve. almost too big for the x to work.

Well, that went as well as can be expected - actually a lot better than I thought it would.

BB2K and I took Syd and Blondie for a walk around the neighborhood again tonight. We put Blondie's lighted Christmas blanket on her, and draped a line of battery-powered lights across Syd's back, and off we went. Things look very different at night, and the lights throw weird shadows - previously, even with Blondie and Betsy along, Syd has been a panic attack waiting for a place to happen when we went out after dark. Tonight, she was like a different pony. 95% of the time, she was doing exactly what I was asking her to do, and even seemed a little bit bored with the whole thing part of the time. I kind of thought she might get a little silly when we got near the place where the tree guys had been yesterday - nope. I don't think she even gave the yard a second look. When you consider that the wind was blowing at about 20 mph, gusting in the 30's, it's even harder to believe; I've always known that the wind goes in one of Syd's ears and blows her brain out the other ear on windy days . . . go figure, but I'm certainly not complaining (and Syd got lots of pets and an extra carrot for being such a good girl!)

@Bunnylady great to hear she did so well that can be so tough for colt
Well, Syd's no baby; she's an '06 model.

I just haven't gotten really serious with her before now.
