Yep. When I was in my early 50s I had two patients who were old school mates of mine. One died the other was incapacitated from a stroke. THAT was my humbling experience. Yes, I had non typical RA and Rheumatic heart disease but I was up, on my feet, able to work and lead a mostly normal life and I thanked God for it. It can always be so much worse.

I looked up Meniere's to understand better. That doesn't sound very nice at all.

I'm sorry to hear about everything...but I agree, your job isn't worth your health.
Many people don't truly understand until something happens to them/their health or a loved one's health.

Very true words indeed. I agree with all three.

Wind finally laid down for us this morning, the sun popped out and the 20o temp was actually nice even with the snow. Too bad the "girls" didn't think so. The cowards still wouldn't stick their delicate little clawed toes in the white stuff. They spent all day dust bathing and lounging in the greenhouse. I think I've created a flock of divas

SCG - we have always hunted here on Sunday. In Michigan where I lived as a youngster as well, even when we still had the "blue" laws. Just too ingrained in the midwest culture I guess.

Well, speaking of hunting, opening weekend in the books with two grown grandsons hunting. We are in a bucks only zone this year but one grandson still managed to take a nice 6 point buck within 2 hours of opening morning. Next round of hunters don't appear until Thanksgiving, of course. Oh well, there's two turkeys in the freezer so all's good and most years it's the only time dad gets to spend time with the boys. He's a few (+) years older than I am and who knows how many hunting camps we have left? I have to admit those 4 a.m. wakeup calls for the camp cook (aka me) are getting harder to answer, but seeing pa's face when he greets the guys at the breakfast table makes it more than worth it.

I heard a few shots just as I was coming in...I guess we have Sunday hunting? I don't even know.

We had more hunters stopping in to ask permission while the bow and musket hunting were on than we've had for regular hunting. I'm actually surprised how few there are. I haven't seen a lot of deer lately. With all the flooding we've had all the sloughs are full...not as many places for the deer and moose to go.

Here it's football playoffs, the Grey Cup's next weekend. I have the place all to myself with the guys gone to their Uncle's to watch. I'm having an enjoyable time getting the chickies moved around for winter. I finally got my last hatch out the door and into the shed. I've been waiting for the old seed grainery to be cleaned out so I can put my roosters and guineas in there because I had no place to put this last hatch. Then I realized the rabbit cage is sitting on a XL large dog kennel.

(I mean, I DID put the rabbit cage on there and I see the kennel EVERY day)
So I moved the 2nd last hatch into the kennel...and the chicks into the rabbit cage. Too funny!

Or sad. I'm not really sure.

Gee when I see "Miss," I figure just another old maid like me. Sorry I misjudged you. You are very welcome here, you fit in so well with oldies, I never would have guessed.

:gig Your not the first, many people assume by my mature typing I'm a oldie by nature :p but I actually joined the site at age 11 and stuck around since bwahaha. Just finally mellowing out though on settling out breeding projects. Of course having now 10 acres helps a lot too, and of course parents tolerating your addiction :p
