I have never grown butternut squash if any of y'all have please give me some info on how you liked it. Please I want to try some new varieties of squash this spring.
Yes it's cold here to this morning, but I don't want to play with the cold.

I've only had to deal with butternut squash once... I had to help my aunt make butternut squash soup... after having to take a squash and a hatchet outside in the winter I was done with those things!

Delicious yes, and now that my dad has a log splitter, I might not be so opposed to them... I just don't like to have to beat my veggies to death before I eat them.... lol

I don't make it either as an adult hate the stuff now

I like most of the winter squashes. Carnival and any of the nuts are good. Favorite way is stuffed.
Hubbard's are amazing for pumpkin pie like pie.
Most you need a really sharp hatchet like knife for.

I love Butternut squash for it's storing ability. It can be a bit of a tough nut to crack but worth the effort. It does make yummy soup and if you grow a good heirloom variety, it can really be delish roasted.

Did the gum.... was that last year, and was that juicy fruit???..... did that work at helping you catch them?

Only squash I am into is patty pan... made into a creamy soup.

But patty pan is a summer squash.

I do love pumpkin pie and all things similar.
