My giant hens were bare backed this summer so I trimmed a couple of the roosters toenails and blunted the spurs hoping it would help. He had plenty of hens at the time cause I have a bunch of EEs with them so was puzzling. Then they grew back. I guess they were just going through a hard molt. Odd thing was the one hen that was dirty white light grey as a pullet and turned white as it got older the back feathers that grew back in were the grey color, looked weird. Same thing, now she's all white. I don't think you're supposed to breed them but she's huge almost as big as the rooster and I only ended up with two hens after predators culled and culling one myself with a dislocated hip.
Hatched mostly cockerels so I only have three new pullets to add to that flock and they look awesome!
I'll hatch a few more this spring but I think I'm going to hatch a lot of naked necks, those birds are awesome! The cold weather doesn't bother them at all, must have hot skin cause they're always outside.

I lost a cat to cancer because of cheap food. Sadly though with 6 dogs, with two with allergies so They get the special stuff and the other ones get less expensive food but my cat gets the best.

Random note any oldies with tattoos here..?

Not "old", 28 here, but I have one and my husband has 3. Mine is "me" my western zodiac is Leo, a lion, and in the Chinese zodiac I am a dragon, the first nickname I ever had was Butterfly. I have a butterfly in the center of my chest between my breasts and a lion on one side and a dragon on the other side under my breasts, they are both crouching and raising a paw to smack at the butterfly. BTW, where my tattoo is, even made my tattoo artest cringe when I told her where I wanted it, not an area for someone without a great pain tolerance.

Awesome on the pig SCG. If you ever use a premade mix and want mire flavor don't just add more mix, makes it too salty. I use a premade for breakfast sausage, not enough flavor for me so I just add extra sage. I get spices super cheap at a Mennonite store, and grow some ourselves. The $$ they charge in grocery stores is ridiculous.

I've always wanted tattoos just don't like spending $$. I do have one from when I was 18 had my uncle do.
Had him tatto FDA inspected and approved on my big toe. Was night before going to boot camp Ft Leonard Wood, and we were drunk and thought it would be funny if I died and they put the toe tag on I would get the last laugh :-D
