SCG..share some photos of your NN babies. I'm trying to get some of my youngest, and a barred cockerel outside. Not doing so well with getting the photos I want on with my phone. Easier on fb. Not here though. :/

Quote: Oh sorry...I was too vague there. The tips are touched on the majority of the straight combs, OEGB and EE.

I'm breeding for cushion/walnut type combs but I'm getting these weird chickens out of my EEs that are showing up with straight combs...lol.

And they're just too nice to cull just for their combs. A few of the roos are non related that I'm keeping for outcrossing like the Barred Rock I just bought. Not so winter tough, comb wise.

He's such a sweetie though.

I am surprised by the Silkie with the cushion type comb that's seemingly touched. And I'm surprised by the 3 of my boys with tall single combs that aren't touched. All my guys with cushion type combs are good as well.

I moved the roosters, about 40...into our tractor shed from the coop and outside specifically because the humidity in there is less than the coop. The coop is warmer but the tractor shed is colder. I don't know how big it is, 30 X 50,with a high roof. I had figured it out...it can hold 200+ chickens, something like that...lol. It's not airtight by any means but no drafts. I have a thermometer in there with hygrometer but I haven't calibrated it yet. The one I've been transferring one back and forth (which I don't trust either) and it's telling me the coop is about 8-10% higher humidity than the rooster shed. I do have a 1500 watt shop heater going...but I'm afraid it doesn't do much in this cold. It produces drier air but realistically it doesn't do much...

I'm just heading out there...I will bring my calibrated incubator thermometer with me.

I like the warm colors.... but most Spitz are the black and white ones.

Here are a few more pictures of mine. Three different colors of Spitz and one Dominique in the back.
