I still wear flip flops unless there's a lot of mud! Then either rain boots or tennis shoes. We don't have horse poo but lot's of cow patties. Hahaha

My father was an equestrian exhibition rider when he was in the army prior to WW II. I inherited my love for horses from him. Not his dare devil streak as he used to do Roman pyramid riding and jumping but it took me years to convince him that Western Pleasure was a real form of riding the same as English Dressage. If I really wanted to make his face match his red hair all I had to do was run out barefoot, wearing cutoffs, throw a bridle on my little App, jump on her back and canter off. I can still see him watching me saddling up with my western saddle and gear and shaking his head as he muttered "that isn't REAL riding!"

I really miss him.

As for the stilettos, add platforms to the soles and you can work when the bedding is really thick!

As for wearing flip flops around the farm. I made the mistake of wearing a pair of hot pink clogs out in the chicken run one day. The rooster made sure I never did that agin.

See never did get away from my western saddle died in thew wool a cattle
ranching run through my veins even now today although I am fully aware

Yep! I couldn't believe that I could get paid to spend time with horses. It was a blast!

Us kids (tweenagers) used to have manure fights.... Here the road apples dry in the sun you can pick em up and pelt em when they hit the soft inner part explodes...

I made the mistake of hitting the Horse shoer once... Got dunked in the horse trough boots and all. The one that was green and had swimmy bugs in it...
