The Old Folks Home

I can't stand stepping on slugs, worms or poop even when wearing shoes -

@superchemicalgirl
Thought of you when I saw this quilt on facebook

That doesn't actually appear to be that difficult to make but the cutting would probably take a while due to having to fussy cut so the spines look like actual spines. The "books" are just strips of fabric with a white strip at the top to make them even across the row, except the leaning books, which are easy because the cats butt covers the bottoms of them so there isn't the small triangle on the bottom to worry about. On the second to top shelf I don't even see that they put the small triangle, so easy peasy.

It would be fantastic to wrap up in and read a book, huh?

I have my first "commission" job for a quilt. Someone liked my chicken quilt so much she wants me to make her one, but with horses. She's mailing the fabric she chose for me this week. I am in the middle of a table runner for Easter, and then I'll get started on the quilt. I actually dislike making commissions. I prefer to freely create and not check in with someone and "hope" they like it since they're paying for it.

Rubber boots here. Spent a lot of time in the creek catching minnows.
My son's friend has some type of sandal or croc when he visits and when he comes into the house, he tracks mud from all the dirt on his bare feet.

I haven't gotten upset. Yet.

No poop slinging here. I did like to mix the water with the chickens' chop so it was nice for them and I got heck a lot for getting it on me. I just wanted them to have nicely mixed food.

When a neighbor/school mate used to bike over, we'd take the axe and go killing garter snakes. There was a spot where there seemed to be tons of snakes. It wasn't for fun...but for function. Until they re-cemented the basement , it always had snakes. We had a hockey stick at the stairs to carry down to kill the snakes that were in the way. Sometimes snakes would climb the stairs and come visit us up top...lol.

I googled and found a few others similar, but much simpler. I thought this would be a good way to use up some scraps too.

Best of luck with the commission piece. I'm sure she'll be pleased.
