The Old Folks Home

Howdy!

I am here... just quieter than I used to be.

I am maybe midlife-crises-ing or something....or maybe it is just the time of year.....

February is always the hardest month up here.

Hey Alaskan.

Trust me, February isn't all that and a bag of chips here in Northeastern Missouri, either. We aren't battling the cold and the snow and the long dark like you are but it's just endless gray skies. I think I can count the number of sunny days we've had since Christmas on one hand.

I'm ready for spring.

We are all just waiting for spring ..... summer .........

Except for me. I love the short days and the darkest gray, cloudy days. Fall is my favorite time of the year. Everything dies. And the days get shorter. If I could be suspended in a perpetual fall type of weather...cool, cloudy, no bugs...I'd love it! I'd be my happiest and I'd feel my best.

Yes. I am probably one of the very few that say that. No, unfortunately I could never choose that because it would kill my poor DH. And I love him too much to take his sun away. He needs the sun to function too.

If I was on my own though....

Something about the end of the day going into darkness...I feel better, my body feels better. Even today I woke up with a killer sinus headache and had it all day until supper time. I remember wishing for a cloudy day for my 10th birthday. I've wondered if it has something to do with the plants and flowers with the way they open and pollinate...and like the prayer plant...close up towards night.

My body is opposite of everyone I know. It would like to wake up about 4pm, stay up all night until the sun is up and then it wants to go to bed.
I would be an awesome shift worker!

Wicked, you sound like me. I love fall but, also love early spring - when the trees etc. just start to green up. I have always been a night person and just today woke up at 5:30 pm.
I get up briefly around 8:30 am to take pills and then right back to sleep. Usually go to bed as the sun is coming up.

I worked most of my nursing career on second shift until I met DH and started to work days. Problem is, my body to this day is still on second shift. I love the evening and get my second wind around 8 pm. I can stay up till one or two, sleep till 9 and even then, I don't get rolling till the evening.

Poor husband just doesn't understand why I still like to set up late althoug I have gotten better. Usually asleep by midnight now.

Meanwhile I've already been to bed and I'm up now.

Got the electrical cable run, and buried today. Tomorrow we will get all the sockets put up, and then get it all connected. Won't be much longer now, and it will be done.
