The Old Folks Home

I had actually never heard of the 22-250. Thanks for the education.

I'm quite surprised at my change from Pacifist Baltimore City Vegetarian to Varmint Killing Rooster Processor in just a few years.

But necessity is the mother of all things...
22-250 has a shell the size of a 308 and a 22 cal slug. very fast very hard hitting. it will make a bunny disappear if hit right. not exactly a back yard rifle though. We used them on foxes and culling kangaroos.

That's like the lady and her kids with their swimming Buff Orpingtons from a year or two back. Thing is when the temps are high, so is the water - not as refreshing but, better than nothing I guess.

Watched several episodes on Animal Planet about a guy that rescues wild animals pestering peoples homes. One was a rat infestation. Ewwwww. . . . . dozens of them fell on him when he opened the basement ceiling. ewwwwwwwwww. THey all ran for the corners and coun't get out. He laid out a sheet with fishing line, like an upside down parachute, with lines thru an eye up on the ceiling beam. THEN he sprinkled MINT along the permimeter for the room and they ran to the middle and stopped for the bread and pb. Jerked the line and caught most of them.

If you can't kill them maybe you can use mint to control where they don't go-- or drive them to the neighbor's!!

I am down sizing soon !! Aka canning!

Still looking at what supplies to buy, hate to forget an item and pay extra shiping to get it. I am eyeing who will be my first experiement at canning meats.
Canning chicken breast is the easiest thing to do ever! I've never done it from whole chicken though. How many chickens will you be doing?

A vegetarian?!?! No thank you. I like my beef still practically mooing at me on the table. I feel you on the long way stuff tho. I was a Boston city gal till i met my husband, Now I walk around barefoot, play with chickens, wear overalls and say Ya'll.

He found a great way to keep his chickens cool for the summer.
So funny! My chickens would have pecked the crap out of me. They do not like swimming!

Mom's tests were negative. Thank God! My oldest son said that they prayed for her last night at VBS.
