Penny I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers are with you.
Scg your blocks are very pretty.
Micro you could also look up the RGGS system. You can grow food in pots with net cups in the bottom that sit in a pvc pipe with an auto float to keep the water at a 2" level. They flourish thru the heat. Nearly no care required and you can do them on cinder blocks for a raised height for care.
There are lot's of videos on youtube for the RGGS system.
I have not been on BYC much have not been well. Just had 3 stints put in and another unblocked a week ago Friday. I am still not up to par.
But feeling much better.
I was doing some sewing and making a few gifts for my grands.

My sewing machine broke down and I had to put it in the shop the day I went in the hospital and just got it back Friday.
It works like new again.![]()
Diva I feel for y'all picking up sticks. Dh and I spend at least half a day picking them up to cut grass weekly. I wish there was an easier way to get the job done!
Hey Deb I feel for you trying to get the hay out of the pallets! I had to fight that every week when I had my breeder pens full.
I did buy a small three pronged yard tool that helped. Kind of like a small rake and it fit into the pallets a bit easier.
Good thing your found a better solution.

32F here today. We had rain mixed with snow this morning and it's just plain crappy out side. I just came in from feeding and watering with numb fingers and cold feet, the latter mainly because dummy me slopped water on my foot while dumping out a waterer. Add to that the moment I went into the coop I knew my sweet little broody had left me a BIG presentalong with dumping both her water and her food. That warranted another trip back to the shop for a bale of pine chips. Then one of the roosters decided to slip out of the run while I was going in. I spent the next ten minutes running him down, wet foot and all. I don't think it would have been so aggravating if it was 70 degrees outside and sunny, LOL.![]()
Needless to say, I'm ready for this weather to settle down. I think it's supposed to be somewhere between 16 and 24 Tuesday night and then a gradual warming trend. Meanwhile my list of outdoor projects continues to grow. Add to it, my next woven panel project being a safety lock and gate for the run. Glad I have another 50 foot row of blackberry canes to cut.

I agree Superchemicalgirl. Double crap. And just about the time the 8 foot tall piles of snow are reduced to three feet and you think that they will all be history if the temps just hold above freezing for another week or two.
Cynthia12. We love KC in spite of almost getting mugged there once. DH and I used to go there annually for CE and would play hooky one afternoon and either go to the WW I museum or a gun show. Then there is the Hallmark plaza and all that wonderful shopping that would just be perfect if only it had a novelty shop for poultry lovers. Had one for cats and dogs at one time so it's only logical.....right?
