The Old Folks Home

I saw a hot rod magazine a few yrs ago that caught my attention. Ford mustang 650hp 35mpg !!?? They had somehow stuffed a Cummings turbo diesel into it.
I looked on the computer that night checking more into it and found a website 'Fordcummings.com' that specializes in kits to drop 6 cylinder Cummings turbos into the old 70s era Ford trucks. Taking trucks that got 6-10mpg and getting over 20+ with that diesel and tons more torque.

It's not American Muscle, but you might be interested in it anyway.

I make the clutches for this beastie...

The clutches at the top of this page... The ones with the dots instead of the full ring facing, those I KNOW I made since I'm the only one that runs the machine that those are run on... The others could have been run by anyone at my plant, but I know I made the spotted ones....

My first reaction anytime I see or hear those (rice burners  ) is hmmph..
Any of them. Computer operated, tune them with a laptop... , not a fan..
But then I think really, what's the difference? Way back they hot rodded what they had through the yrs, I didn't grow up in the muscle car era just was still around. What does a 'kid' have today to romp on? Sure ain't a classic. They're out doing the same with what's available to them.
Dang, that car is amazing, 'crotch rocket' speed.

@Kusanar
Ever watch Ken Block's Gymkhana vids on YouTube? I prefer American cars but have always had a soft spot for Subaru's, I've beat them beyond recognition yrs ago, 80s cars and a brat, almost impossible to kill them.

Have to say I had a 72 Datsun 510 wagon took that thing 4wheeling I mad it through things big 4x4s couldn't make!! I just ran down into ruts and back out lol they would get hung up with one side in and one side out lol

YO Guys, there seems to be a great interest in cars /muscle cars . Would be great if it continued on a new thread maybe "Old folks/old cars?" whatever. Does someone volunteer to be a thread starter and nurture it along???? Please.....

Yeah, last eight posts in 24hrs were a bit much. Maybe a new thread for old folks favorite dogs and extract another eight posts and we could jump back 48hrs.
Might be easier to keep up :old

This is TOFH, there are no taboo topics other than what BYC forbids.

Now that it's Friday, who has weekend plans? I'm going to go see a play that a friends kid is in, and I'm going to try not to fall asleep and snore in it. It doesn't start until 1900, which is pretty much at or near my bedtime.

Still snow all over, here. I got my celery and onions started, in the house, and this weekend would normally be the time that I'd start tomatoes and peppers... but now I'm not so sure. Usually the snow is all melted when I start them, and I still have well over 2 feet in most of my front yard. We are getting another inch today. I am guessing the state will extend stud tire season.

We're allowed studded tires until April 30. Still lots of snow and cold here also. Hoping to get some more unfrozen eggs to set Saturday, even been going out at night when I get home from work hoping for non-split one's. Got 31 naked neck eggs so far between today and tomorrow morning hope it fills the hova.
I'll be boiling maple sap Sun and smoking 25lbs of venison pepperoni :drool
