RR ties might poison the pond water. Be careful about where you put them.
Of course, maybe they are so old that they are fine now.

A lady that has bought several of my turkey and chickens has some Angora rabbits she offered me some when I first started looking for some. I told her they were to small for what I wanted.chicka..what kind of rabbits? Have a friend that went to show some of hers in Idaho today. Did pretty good. She breeds the fancy short eared ones.
Do you have them for fun..or to eat? Or..both.![]()
That's an English Angora; they weigh about 6 lbs. Their ears bend over at the tips like twin question marks - really cute.
The RR ties are over way over 20 years old. But we are only using them to hold the pond liner in place for 2 1/2" of water. It will be a wicking bed or giant kiddie pool type garden.
We will be adding soil to 7 gallon recycled grocery bags from Walmart and plant the veggies in them. Last year we had 4 kiddie pools and this year we want something that will look better and have an automatic float to maintain the water level so when we go camping I don't have to worry about the plants drying out.
I am going to put deer netting over the garden this year and around my fruit trees to try to keep the bugs and squirrels from eating everything. Wish me luck.
Cynthia I started out with a mixed breed pair that were just small brown rabbits to raise for meat. I found a larger buck that is a Californian/ Rex cross and he is a nice size and has sired some nice 10 lb. offspring. Right now I have 8 but I am holding some for a friend till she get's her set up fixed. Then I will breed 2 of my does after we get them moved.
Our Doctor told us to start eating more game meat to lower our Cholesterol. It is helping.
