Our house is set up really weird, so, since we don't have company over much, we kind of changed the intended purposes of the rooms a bit...Seems it wasn't that long ago that all rooms were for something besides food and sleeping...and now all rooms are for food and sleeping![]()

When you walk in the front door, that room used to be, and still is, the living room, but our living room has a couch and nothing else, no tv or anything.
You go through the living room into what used to be the dining room, we turned it into the bedroom, so, bed, desk with TV on it, book shelves.
Then go through that into the kitchen (obviously still the kitchen)
Turn left out of the bedroom and there is a tiny little hallway that is only about 3 foot square and opens into 3 rooms, bathroom straight ahead, and what used to be a bedroom on each side. The bedroom on the left is now Zach's model room (he does Warhammer models) so there are lots of totes and boxes of those and desks for painting and putting together of models. The bedroom on the right is Zach's closet for all of his clothes and various things. Then there is one more bedroom that opens off of the kitchen and that one is my closet which is where all of my stuff and clothes are. Plus my aquarium with my fish since the cats never go in the closets.
So yeah, we sleep in the dining room and pile clothes in the bedrooms... lol
I must have missed a room--One of them has to be a hatching room where you keep the incubators!Maybe you can see about getting a hospital bed for the living room. Some insurance providers may pay for it as a copay. When you do not need it anymore it goes back to the medical supply store. For as long as I've been with Dh, we have never used the dining room area as a dining room. All the places we've lived, were open floor plan, so the dining room got turned into the computer area. Dh, and I both use our computers while watching tv. Mine is hooked into the tv, so we can watch movies I download. We eat at our computers, in the living room, at the breakfast bar, or on the patio table.
While the dining room is the only room we've permanently re-purposed, I have recently moved the mattress off the single bed from one of the guest rooms, onto the living room floor. Due to the treatments I'm currently taking, my sleeping hours are erratic, and there are times I don't have a lot of energy, then there are times when all my muscles ache, and times the nerve endings in my feet are agitated. When I don't have a lot of energy, I can lay down, and watch tv, yet I'm not isolated back in the bedroom. It's centrally located, so it saves me steps when my feet are inflamed. When I'm tired, I can fall asleep on it, but not be disturbed by movement coming from the other side of the bed.
Some people do similar with a recliner in their living room. I move it back to the bedroom when guests are coming over. It slides easily over the tile, when on it's side.
