The Old Folks Home

Like I said before, when I did my first blue jay, it was the year Florida got hit with 5 hurricanes in a row. About the 4th. one, we lost power for about 2 weeks. The bigger problem was all the downed trees on the roads that had to be cleared, before the linemen could fix the power lines. When they announced the 5th. one, I packed up the SUV with 3 girls, 5 dogs, 1 rabbit, 2 squirrels, and 1 blue jay, luggage, animal feed, and headed to my parent's place in KY. I kept the bird warm with pocket warmers (hot pockets) until I could plug in it's heating pad. We must have been a sight.

runt, I'm so sorry! With wild baby animals, it's a crapshoot. A LOT depends on what they've gone through, and what condition they're in when you begin to take care of them. Sometimes, they've been though too much, and simply can't make a full recovery. You did your best, and that's what counts. At least, now you have a much better idea of what to do if you ever run into the situation again.

Dh is happy with the smells coming from my kitchen. He was overjoyed when he found out Pink Floyd was coming to Tampa to perform. They're his favorite group. He freaked when he found out the tickets are $600.00 per person. He'll just have to get over it, because we can't afford that.

Too bad you can't just send an ear for 20 bucks.
