The Old Folks Home

Dh is happy with the smells coming from my kitchen. He was overjoyed when he found out Pink Floyd was coming to Tampa to perform. They're his favorite group. He freaked when he found out the tickets are $600.00 per person. He'll just have to get over it, because we can't afford that.
um I think that is a little much for me a little too too much but me and my mom are going to chapel hill this year if nothing
happens

Too bad you can't just send an ear for 20 bucks.

I told him what you suggested, and he laughed. The place they are holding the concert, has seating for 18,900 people. I'm having a very hard time wrapping my head around the fact that 18,900 people are willing to spend $600.00 per ticket, to hear Pink Floyd perform. What I want to know is, where all those people are getting that much money to throw away on something that's not a necessity.

Enjoy! We did the tractor pull at Louisville, KY a few years ago. Dh loves tractor pulls. Me, not so much. I prefer late model racing, on dirt track.

11,340,000.00 if they fill it up. Now that's more than a few bucks.

Runt I am so sorry that the baby died. You did a great job trying to help it but have you considered that maybe the momma bird knew there was something wrong with the babes and deserted the nest to try again? It happens sometimes that a mother bird will kick weak birds from the nest.

Mother nature never makes a mistake, as hard as it is to swallow sometimes.

I set this afternoon trying to figure out what i'm goin to do with the donated eggs my OEGB hen gave my Welsummer hen to sit on. GRRRRR. I swear that little hen is a Houdini. I find her jumping back and forth between pens and can't figure out how she gets there. So Dolly is due to hatch chicks somewhere around the 26th. I can give the extra eggs to Speckles to sit on until her babies hatch on or about the third of July when I take over brooding and put the donated eggs in the Brisea to finish their gestation.

In the mean time my two little girls that I got to put in with the chick that survived the slaughter when one of my OEGB hens attacked newly hatched chicks (that old Houdini gene again) are still tiny. They were 80% feathered when I got them so I figure they were 3-4 weeks old and that was 3 weeks ago now. At first I thought they were Dutch Bantams but at 5 weeks their legs remained and are still pale yellow. So could they be OEGB/Dutch cross since they are hatchery birds. I'm going to get a picture of them tonight and see if y'all can enlighten me.

One of my girls (Miss Pigeon) has been broody for a while now, but she's young and fickle. She stays on the nest, but when one hatched she completely ignored it. It wandered out of the nest and I found it the next morning, chilled and unhappy. Into the brooder it went. Same thing with the next one to hatch. Sigh. I don't know what I'm gonna do with that daft bird. I love her, but dang it!

I hurt my wrist this afternoon trying to wrangle Ariel into a stall. Her big belly is nearly dragging the ground and her nipples are huge. Looks like we'll be having piglets soon. I saved some donuts from breakfast to give her as a treat tomorrow. Sweet fat girl.

Good thing you have the brooder! Take care of your wrist. Next time, lure her into the stall with the doughnut, and save the wear, and tear on your wrist.
