The Old Folks Home

Spent the morning assembling 30 frames for my beehive to replace the ones that got contaminated this spring with some kind of horrible wax moth.
Need to get them on the hive ASAP - but the glue needs to dry. I was not successful nailing them together so I had to resort to glue and half bent nails.

There, made ya laugh, right?

okay so we do not let you nail only use screws now

Just got up and was standing at the kitchen window sipping coffee when I realized something was standing at the top of the ravine on the far side watching the house. It was big enough to look like our smallest dog...a Jack Russell/border collie mix only was bushy tailed.

It was a fox! Dogs kept us awake most of the night barking so it is going ot be a long day. That fox has got to go.

Just had a nice nap after working outside in the heat, with a feels like temperature of 97 i needed it. Got rid of 200 gallons of leaves and weeds from the new area where my chicken coop will go. I figure i am about 1/3 done with that chore. Time for supper.

I like that solution Beer can. The animal is beautiful but a killer. He has wiped out our neighbors flock and I found guinea feathers and feathers from a white chicken near our pond. I have neither.

I think I'm going to call MDC tomorrow and see if the will set out live traps and remove this grey nuisance. If they tell us to deal with it.....we will.

I think the only thing protecting my flock right now is an electric fence packing some serious voltage. That and metal walls and a concrete floor.

Keep at it. You'll get there

Capricorn, I've been doing chores in the morning, then taking a nap in the afternoon too. The heat, and humidity here are wiping me out.
Yeah, i am trying to get up earlier to get out. I am really wiped out tonight with the medication for the poison ivy and half a muscle relaxer i took for my side where i hurt it falling off the porch. At least i was in the shade most of the time and i drink tons of water. I am so tired even with the nap i will probably dose off. And the weather is probably going to be as hot all week. Not a fan of July.
