The Old Folks Home

Ron what didn't you like about the Dark Tower ending?

I haven't read any of the series but figured Roland was training the boy to be a gunslinger. I really do not like Matthew McConaughy(sp?) so I was very happy .

I believe I read there are 8 books/stories in the Tower series. Somewhere it mentioned the Dark Tower would come to TV.
The ending of the book series was weak. The ending of the movie was good and I am looking forward to the next movie.

RE:dogs acting like pack animals. An friend owned & showed a top winning Afghan female many years ago He had to run his dogs every day because of their energy level. Molly slipped on ice and either broke or dislocated something and was screaming in pain.
On cue, the rest of his dogs attacked her en masse and would have killed her if friend had not beaten them off. Forgive me for saying this but, Afghans would be considered the silkies of the dog world. 'Nuff sed!" I was shocked that they had any canine type responses.

So those rules on the 7 day supply are for acute pain (post surgery, toothache, pulled muscle). Your provider has to put an exception on the Rx (hospice, palliative care, cancer, etc) as to why you're a chronic user of pain meds and then the insurance will pay.

My suggestion is to call the number on the back of your insurance card to ask about acute vs chronic pain meds, then your providers office will have to supply that info on the next Rx to the pharmacy.

Thanks, SCG I was hoping you would respond. I'm going to do just that tomorrow, Plus I'm going to call my pharmacy and tell my pharmacist what I learned.

They did tell me to get an override from my doctor's office. I've a rheumatoid type arthritis. My husband looked at my hands a few nights ago and asked me what my doctor was doing about my deformities. Not much to do. I've had Rheumatic Fever that is continuing to do a lot of damage to my joints. Living with chronic pain isn't fun. Reliable pain relief makes life easier.

My DW went through a period of Rheumatic Fever. Web MD said that you go through bouts of it for 3 to 5 years. I thought she was over it since it has been about 5 years since the bouts ended.

She has it coming back though. She had a terrible rash that went from her forehead to her legs on Saturday. Dr. at the Urgent care said it was likely Scarlet fever which will turn into rheumatic fever. The Dr. said it looked like she had rheumatoid arthritis in her right hand and that can happen from rheumatic fever.

The rash is miserable! Hopefully the anti biotics will keep it from becoming Rheumatic Fever again.

Ron, I'm so sorry to hear that.

I had my RF when I was in my mid 20s. which they told me was extremely old to be diagnosed. While I have some mild heart damage, it has really hit my joints hard. Rings that I could wear two years ago can no longer fit over my knuckles and my feet are almost a constant source of pain for me.

I was told it never goes away. Overactivity, getting too tired, too stressed, getting sick in general can set it off again.

I had the rash when I was first diagnosed. It was around my waist. I don't remember it itching too badly, Burn yes, itch no.I spent a month in the hospital and 6 months total in bed. Not easy to swallow when you are in what is supposed to be the vital years of your young adulthood. I was never quite the same afterwards. I still fatigue easily and have to guard myself from becoming ill and it was a good 10 years before the doctor would assure me that I was going to survive.

Every day is a blessed gift from God. I work hard to stay healthy and take care of my body.

Hope your wife does okay. I'll sure remember her in my prayers.
