The Old Folks Home

Hello! :frow

I bet you all thought I had fallen and been eaten by my chickens. :lau Well, no such luck, I'm alive and well and enjoying my retirement to the fullest. :celebrateI have a part time job and I have been to the beach for a total of four weeks this summer. :yesss:

School starts tomorrow and my last baby boy will be in the 11th grade. His two older brothers will both be in college. :th

We closed on a house last week and I have been working on getting it in shape to live in (for my oldest son.) He will be working full time soon and needs something to spend his money on besides his girl, his truck, and his friends.

I am not going to try to catch up. Let me know if there is anything I NEED to know. To all the new old folks - Welcome!! To all those who have been ill or injured - I'm sorry you feel bad and hope you feel better soon. To any who may have lost loved ones - You have my condolences and my empathy. I'm still grieving over my Dad.

:loveI love you all, and wish (there I go again) you all well.:hugs

Hey, lady, found myself missing you so decided to stalk through your profile. Glad that all is well with you, and that you have achieved retirement. :yesss:

Make sure that when you get it finished that you take lots of pictures before you add birds. You'll never see it that clean again!
Yeah, i have been taking pictures right along. 20170819_193224.jpg 20170819_193236.jpg

That looks like the same laminate we put in our coop. :thumbsup

I've gotta get the house cleaned up & make sure all the food buckets actually have food in them before the petsitter comes in tonight. Its gonna be like circus in here today trying to find 5 people warm clothes that haven't been seen since January, packing up a picnic dinner & getting everyone all the way downtown in time to find a spot on the grass. I hope we're making a fun memory & not one of those disastrous, "remember when mom made us..." ones. :fl

It is just vinyl flooring. Going with easy if possible. The laminate would be more durable. But time consuming to put in.
Hope you have a great time.

Nah, I'm probably the one missing something, LOL

What I think I am doing is responding to both Perchi Girl and Superchemical girl in the same post and tagging SCG when addressing her....I think. Too early in the morning to count on my brain working and it isn't floating in enough coffee yet.

I'm slicing pears for the dehydrator. We have three Asian Pear trees left. The others self destructed due to fire blight and heavy fruit load. DH pointed out that the trees aren't strong enough to support their mature fruit. Flaw in their development or a problem with our soil?

Two of the trees are full of pears and I've decided to dehydrate them for snacks instead of canning this year as I have pears left over in the pantry from last year.
Thinning the fruit may help with their production.... Till the trees develope more roebust branches.

It will be awesome.... Last time I was in that area in the evening was during the Christmas light Parade Back in 1980s... A friend of mine was married to a sport fishing Captain... We all piled on his boat and set anchor near the Navy Vessel R n D yard.
