The Old Folks Home

I'm very fortunate...I think for the most part my bp does not get affected by the doctor visit...maybe only for the yearly physical.:lau That's nerve wracking at the best of times because I usually start laughing...lol. My last 3 doctors were very cool and they just shake their head..lol. Regular doc visits are usually fine...although now that we have no doctor, the walk in lady doc we saw could possibly raise my bp. I didn't like her so much.View attachment 1135306

Your dentist takes a bp test? That's interesting. Mine would be through the roof for that...I'm not so great with dentists. Give me a shot or take 20 blood samples...just don't send my to the dentist. Our dentist passed away and I don't have one. My teeth have been aching because I have cavities....I don't want to go.
Go to the dentist, please. Save them teeth.

I had a root canal without effective pain relief. The med would not work because the tooth was infected. They just kept working regardless. And they wonder why i didn't go back!
Like really, right? It's surprising they didn't put you on a course of antibiotics first. Here the new dentist DH went to wouldn't work on his root canal until the infection was gone. Omgosh yours would've hurt!
no what I had major fear dentist had to be put under had bad episode I was young maybe 19 working as gear head at shell service station pumping tire up a bit that had gone flat get it changed easier manager at time steps in front of me grabs the handle of the floor jack gives it two pumps both hit me square under the jar down I go.. wake up in the hospital jaw jammed wisdom teeth broke.. once the selling went down I had my jaw wrenched again by a oral surgeon eating through a straw well over two months
I don't know what it why some people have to be like that. The manager needed a good crack right back! :smack I'm so glad I never got wise enough to get those teeth...they seem to be the cause of so many problems. Of course, maybe not if it hadn't been for the manager's lack of thought. The oral surgeon dh went to had a serious lack of manners in total.

It's too bad I didn't know you then when you had to drink out of a straw. Dh had a broken jaw that was wired shut and I can whip up the most amazing roast chicken smoothie you've ever seen. :D We were both working and it was manure season so I didn't have time to eat...I just made an extra large smoothie and drank it too! Surprising delicious. And the best part was I got all the good, crispy skin because he couldn't eat it..lol.;) That made up for the extra work. :clap

I got 6 fillings in grade 4; three drilled out and all six put in with zero freezing.
I could've done without that.:(

Oh man. Upset with manager?

What you all talking about :hmm

:lau....
I've worked with a couple, at first they could probably scare a guy, they are hilariously funny when you get used to them. Have to be careful what you say here at work. Doesn't even have to offend the people that heard it, we've had people disciplined or fired for saying something someone heard from someone that heard it from someone else that works a different shift on a different day.....
That's a fairly serious workplace then. May I ask what i your work. I haven't worked in a workplace that serious in a long time. Well, I suppose my job now wouldn't tolerate that (school bus driver) but working at the bar and the hog barn were pretty easy going.
Perhaps they don't hold themselves up to the same scrutiny/standard? When I was young...probably in my 20s I went with a few friends to the male dancers; which here means full nudity. I was more than shocked at the older ladies for the inappropriateness. By that I mean excess lewdness. And by most people's standards...I seem to have one of the more filthy minds...lol.

Having a little fun is one thing, I did grow up in that era so I get it but only to a certain extent...but those boys are still someone's sons. The hypocritical nature of it is what doesn't sit well. Expect to treat men with the same respect as one would expect to treat women. That's my thoughts on it.

There's four years between Dh and me and 9 years is the greatest age difference in my family. I guess I go by those parameters. Although I don't imagine looking much to men in their 30s, especially early 30s with me being in my mid 40s. Anyone younger than late 30s I view as a kid like my son. I treat everyone with complete respect no matter the age...there are some pretty impressive young people out there working...but as far as romance/sexual... umno.gif

Since your vision has not changed, are you going to get lasiks or a kamera insert?

I am considering it. I hate having to wear glasses and since my far vision is fine, it make it hard to see stuff in the car. I should wear the reading glasses but they are not easy to use. I guess bi focals would work.
I didn't ask you what you were considering? I haven't heard of the kamera insert.

I know a couple people who buy quite a few pairs of reading glasses and they keep them wherever they usually need them so they're there when they do...lol. But if you hate wearing glasses...I imagine that'd be a pain.

@Wickedchicken6 I have no vision in right 30% tunnel in the left super light sensitive but remove them in the low light coop to zero in on my birds
So your vision is good in low light? Everyone here seems to lose that. Our employer wouldn't drive at night because of his poor night vision. I still have excellent night vision. Dh still can't understand how I can mow lawn at midnight with no lights.

You must wear sunglasses? I would consider myself light sensitive. We have black blinds at our house and I have them all pulled. I wear my shades until after the sun's gone down. I get teased a lot about being a vampire.

...I guess I plan to go once harvest is over. Because you're right I do want to keep my teeth. False teeth are prohibitively expensive and they seem so hard to get to fit well. My Gran's never pleased with hers...and she doesn't have the grindstone in the care home like she did at home. :hmm She's still saying that.

This:

Kamra Inlay/ Raindrop Inlay

The KAMRA and Raindrop Inlays can eliminate the need for reading glasses for patients that lose their ability to read up close because of age(presbyopia). The Kamra Inlay received FDA approval in April 2015 and the Raindrop Inlay in June 2016. In a brief surgical procedure (usually less than 10 minutes), a doctor uses a laser to create a small pocket or flap in the cornea. A tiny inlay is inserted into the pocket or under a flap in the center of the cornea. This allows focused light into the eye. The inlay is usually inserted into the patient’s non-dominant eye, and the brain allows both eyes to work together to give the patient clear vision.

The inlay is only about 0.15 inch in diameter — about half the thickness of the plastic wrap used to store food. Although it rarely happens, if the inlay causes problems, it can easily be removed.
