I am not responsible for anything I might have said when sleep deprived, lol.
Well gee, on those terms, I shouldn't ever be held responsible for things I say.

Probably best that whatever they gave him calmed him down. And possibly safer.I think there was something wrong with him more than just bp, whatever they put him on calmed him down he was a big guy not 'fat' just big, little bigger than me, but super high strung and always in a hurry. He used to jump up on his trailer and unhook/seal himself up when done, NOT allowed to but I gave drivers leeway if I liked them and they were helping out when I was burried. Whatever they eventually put him on to lower his bp also calmed him the heck down lol.
IDK the requirements for DOT physical just dealt with a lot of drivers.

A dairy plant...cool! You sounded quite a bit like a dispatcher (semis)Where do I work? Dairy plant, 100yrs old+. Make cottage cheese and sour cream, Breakstones....Kraft/Heinz owns it now...
The whole age difference thing...My MIL is 63, FIL, 79... I think he will live longer than her, he deals with way less stress, still loves his beerlove the guy. If you met him you'd swear he was maybe pushing it 69?... Not even, maybe 59 lol.

For me, it's because some of them move so fast. I can pick up a snake...but those fast moving spiders...ugh. We've got one in the kitchen like one of those that make those big tubular type webs in the trees. I've tried to kill him...he's too dang fast. Fast=scary...lol.I don't see why folks are so scared of spiders. Whack, they are dead. No problem.
I have master bedroom because of IBD hate that as much as spiders
Hi and welcome!!Hi all. I am a retired late middle ager who has just discovered the fun of chickens. I was helping a friend with chores on her farm and realized how much I loved stopping in the coop and just watching. Now we have a tiny group of 7 here ... 5 roosters and 2 hens. Yes ... I know ... So far we seem to be getting along just fine. They all grew up together. Ours free range and tend to stick to the front yard and side gardens of our home. Sure makes it fun to watch them pop around when we eat lunch at the kitchen window. I harbour dreams of TOO MANY critters. We do also have three donkeys. Between the chickens and the donkeys I have plenty of reason to be outside and active every day. Wondering how our Canadian winter will treat the chickens. I would love to get to know some other 'mature' chicken owners. Ha!
I'm from Manitoba...lol. I'm not sure I can claim to be mature...
...but I'm in my mid 40s.Hi and welcome as well!I just started raising my 5 chickens. One mistake I made was starting with 3 chickens and adding 2 more. My original chickens kept pecking on the newbys. Now after one month they have adjusted to each other. I am preparing for the cold winter months ahead and needing to put electricity down to my chicken coop. I wish I had a automatic door opener for my chicken coop so I don't have to open up the door before heading out to work !
It sounds like you did ok with integration. It can be a bit tricky, it depends a lot on the breed of the birds and their individual temperaments.
Sometimes I wish I had an automatic door too! Although in my case...more for the end of the day...lol.Delightful!View attachment 1137524 Just View attachment 1137524 !

That's unfortunate many suffer from insomnia.
is when they come down their silky thread from the ceiling and are danging over my head. When I have swatted at them they disappear and then I am afraid to go back to sleep in case they come back.
