The Old Folks Home

THX -- ex Californian here. So many cool places that I have been! Can not believe it.
I know!
The total cost of damage will be enormous along with the loss of lives.

I will have to go through there to see it in a couple of monnths

We get no trick or treaters - I think because the street is dark and we are at the very end. Also the houses are farther apart. Not close like a city. Kids don't want to walk anymore. They get driven to parties at the park district - more reward for almost no effort. :plbb

Oh wow!!! :clap That sounds like a ton of fun!!! We have no kids that come or anything. But we're on a main gravel road with a fair amount of traffic. And two school busses go past. :wee There's a place on the way to the city that pulls up an old grainery every year; they have a creepy singing/swinging girl and other animatronics. They also have a partial cemetery. We love going past and seeing the display every year. Every year they add to it. I'm betting your display was very much appreciated. :highfive:
Yes, people used to come and pose in the yard and take pictures! We used to give out freeze pops, the kids loved it.

When I was just learning how to trick or treat, older sister & I,went together. I think it was just about 4 city blocks . Some folks gave out actual full size candy bars - in the day they were 5 cents each. We thought they had to be rich. None of the icky cheap candy that could break your teeth.

Our biggest haul was about a dozen full size Hershey bars(with almonds) each - I don't think I knew about Snickers, etc. at that time. But I sure remember those candy bars and the stomach ache they gave him.. Had to scarf them down fast before rest of family would try and get them. :smack

we still have a ball dressing up for little ones we have a close to haunted a house for them ghosts coming up the drive a pallet with eerie lights and bloody body parts a coffin the creeks open skeletons and that is just to start
Oooooh...nice!!! :clap

About your skunk, I also find marshmallows work well, at least here. That way it doesn't involve the cats and other pets who want to eat the bait. :p Even if you don't get sprayed...you may smell a bit if you walk into the "plume" of air surrounding the skunk. I've caught 5 skunks now...and end up spending the day wafting in light skunk aroma...lol.

However, I seem to have created a marshmallow eating bunny...lol. She seems quite pleased with herself and patiently waits for me to let her out. I've caught her 4 times and the last time I left her in for most of the day to see how she liked that.
I haven't caught her since. :yesss:

Caught TWICE in a 24 hour period. She's such a stinker! :love
