The Old Folks Home

OK, it's time for WHO HAS FUN/NOT SO FUN WEEKEND PLANS?

I'll start... finishing (hopefully) the outdoor chores today - bringing back inside all the tomato cages, raised bed bags, fencing and stakes... then organizing the basement a bit. Putting up the reflectors before the ground freezes, bringing wood in (a few larger pieces that fell last winter into the chicken run [they loved them so they stayed until yesterday] need to be chainsawed first) and planting garlic.

So, how's your Saturday?

My plan WAS planting garlic today but now I have to wait until, hopefully, the snow melts. Not sure since we are supposed to get more later.

Today is pulling up and putting to bed the summer veggie garden, planting the last garlic bed (I harvested the sweet potatoes therein yesterday), a quick mow (well, more like vacuuming fallen leaves than mowing), and a rotation of chick troops from bator to brooder to bigger brooder and cleaning up and storage of the incubator(s), plus an afternoon party to attend. Still have one batch of Marans due (hopefully) next week. On Sunday it's making a Tabasco-like sauce, planting tulips, and general household chores (cleaning, laundry, etc.)
