The Old Folks Home

Very nice SCG, you really do beautiful work. My daughter is flying in Monday night from Maine to spend 10 days here. I'll make a full blown meal for us and we'll eat to a comatose state for 3 days. Turkey, stuffing (home made from scratch), gravy from drippings, mashed garlic potatoes, green bean casserole, mashed butternut squash, candied yams, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something... For dessert, apple pie, blueberry pie, pumpkin pie and chocolate pudding pie. Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream also available for ala mode' :drool

So, I tried a new breakfast concoction... Never make english muffins with cinnamon while 1/2 asleep, in the dark. It's amazing how similar a bottle of chile powder is to a same sized bottle of cinnamon. Pretty similar in color as well in very low light. So after sprinkling/tapping out the "cinnamon" onto the muffin followed by a dusting of sugar, that first bite is a real wake up :sick

The chile powder has been moved to a more appropriate place to avoid any further confusion...

laughing so hard couldn't type at first only because I went and moved our to another cupboard so I couldn't ever do it :gig:lau:wee:bow

View attachment 1189827 That is so funny!

mostly because we can all see us doing it huh :clap

I need to make sure I have my glasses on when I cook....Hard to tell the difference between things if you cannot see the label....

Mine are doing too much clawing other places so hoping this will be their new fav spot.

hey they have cat trees and scratchy door things all over still hit my chair and Richards as often as possible or when we turn our backs

Turkey with stuffing inside, dressing outside
Ham
Green Bean Casserole
Squash (both yellow, and zucchini) and Cream Cheese Casserole

Got a lot done today - pens all cleaned, finished about 5 gillion loads of laundry (it really backs up when you don't have appropriate water/heat) and finished this quilt

Today I put the spaghetti sauce on the stove over very low heat while I went to check my emails. From there I checked out BYC, Lands End, LL Bean, the news sites etc. THEN got a whiff of something burning. OY almost trashed another corning ware pan.

Things like this happen all the time. I get to the keyboard and my mind goes blank. Is this just a problem for well aged adults?

They have things now called timers. You put them on to remind you to check the stove. Or do like i do and pull a bar stool up in front of the stove. Then you can stir while you surf!

Not going to try to catch up....

MRI results are in.... Fibroids and a mass that looks like cancer limited to the uterous.... everything else looks fine...

So looks like I get the biopsy to confirm... and wether or not its cancer I suspect they will do a hysterectomy.... am ok with all that... just hated waiting for some sort of diagnoses...
