The Old Folks Home

@penny1960, I'm so glad you got the hanging. I walked around the house trying to find a place that I could hang it and couldn't. Our home is on an open floor plan and every large 'open' wall area is already claimed.

Speaking of indulgences and not sleeping, Last night our cattle dog, the one that has degenerative myelopathy got a wild hair going and decided that he wanted to go outside at 11pm. Dingo has always enjoyed being out in nice weather during the full moon so he could chase varmints and I guess he decided that last night he realized that the moon was almost full. The spirit was willing even if the body is less than perfect. So after laying in bed and listening to him fuss at us about it (if he doesn't get what he wants he tends to lay and bark at us until we give in to his demands) I put him out in their fenced in section of yard where he'd be safely contained and can watch the woods from either the deck, under the deck in one of their dog houses, or from the yard and put his two younger buddies out with him to keep him company. So they went from barking in the house to barking outside and this morning I feel like this:caf

It's going to be a long day.
Totally been there. the joys of being a good pet parent.

The sad thing is that with this progressive Neuro/muscular disease progressing we try to indulge him and let him do what he wants to do. With the exception of being loose on the farm overnight. The last time we had him with us in the timber, he managed to crawl down into a ravine to check out a tree that looked like it had dens made in the root system and then discovered that he couldn't get out. I finally had to crawl down in the ravine and help him out of his predicament. If he slid down in a ravine overnight we would have a hard time finding him.

It's beautiful here today. Sunny, highs in the 50s. Winter can just stay away for a while longer and I'll be a happy camper.

AL, everyone is entitled to a little luck now and again. I think you just used up your allotment for the foreseeable future... A new freezer would have been a serious ding to the budget I'm sure, though I imagine the food inside would have stayed frozen quite a while there, even without power. Speaking of which, have you finally lit a fire in your stove? :lau

nope.. icecubes left out overnight on the counter stayed as ice cubes. :lau

On my to do list today..toss a child up on the roof and get him to clean the chimney.

Al Divas right take the cake to your room and enjoy!
Kids get stuff all the time. Sometimes we have to indulge ourselves as well.
