The Old Folks Home

While I was at the Florida Homesteaders event, I entered in the raffle. Dh got a phone call, and I won first prize. I never win anything, but I did today. It was a mealworm farm. We went to pick it up. Between what I bought, and what I won, in about a month, I should be broke out with plenty of mealworms for my chickens.
Congrats, that's great you won!

Hello OF. Awake but not up yet. Soon. I do not hear saws or hammering yet. These idiots are going to be working in crappy cold weather soon when it could have been all done by now.
I am making meatloaf and concrete today, hopefully i will keep the mixtures separate! :lau:old
What a combo! Make sure to get the right one in the oven for sure!

Went out and hunted a tree and brought it back to the house. Got it up and decorated without letting poultry in the house.
That's a huge win.

The deer and moose head/antlers are decorated. The chickens got a wreath. Gotta finish a bowl of lunch then get the village and trains up under the tree.
Does it take a Village to decorate the tree?

Never mind; There is a Christmas village under the tree

I went to the Florida Urban Homesteading event. It was about 4 blocks away. They had canning demonstrations, rabbit killing, and cleaning demonstrations, and the mealworm seminar. It was GREAT! I watched the seminar. I bought a container of mealworm larvae in organic wheat bran, and the lady threw in some beetles too, and it came with instructions. And we're off.....

The trains from the 50s and the 80s still work but the front light is out in the locomotive. The whistle still works.

I had to replace 2 house lights but otherwise it was an easy set up. Sitting in here in the dark, now, with the tree and platform on and the wood stove cranked. It is lovely. The smell is amazing.

looks great! I am however surprised that you have blue lights on the tree. Not sure why, but I just thought you would have either clear or red.
