The Old Folks Home

No, unfortunately, just a shower.....there is the stock tank though.......;) I keep threatening to drag it up onto the deck and turning it into a Jacuzzi. Putting a tub and shower combo in is in the planning stage. We both have so much trouble with joint pain that it is almost a necessity at this point. We needs to soak.

I had better sleep tonight. Didn't last night. Tossed and turned till 1AM, thanks to ramming my head into a cattle panel yesterday. Yeah, I know, kutz city. I have a cattle panel awning that I made for my rooster pen. I had a large sheet of Koroplast that I attached to it, then all I had to do was hang it over the pop door. It was windy yesterday and one of the corner poles had blown loose. I repositioned it, turned my attention back to chasing down a pullet to mover her and the minute I turned my back the wind caught the pole and the awning slipped back down. Pullet ran under the awning, I spun around and dove after her thinking I would be diving under the awning and wham...head first into the cattle panel. It knocked me on my butt and immediately blood started dripping off my forehead. I'm dripping, the young cockerels are standing around looking at me like they are asking if it is okay to start eating me. The pullet is nowhere to be seen and I don't have a paper towel on me so I use a corner of my zip up hoodie on my now bleeding head and make my way to the house thinking Boy Howdy, here I am again, making my insurance deductible thanks to stitches.

Thank goodness no stitches. I did have a good scalp laceration that DH assured me was deep but not deep enough to need sutures or crazy glue. But man did I have a sore head/headache for the rest of the day and into the night.

I finally got to sleep at 1, at 2 the dogs woke me up. they wanted out. Got back to sleep, then awake again at 3. Dogs pounding at the back door wanting back in. Back to sleep and managed to finally get some rest. No headache this morning, just a very sore scalp.

Awning was torn down this morning and being replaced with a tarp cover. God, please tell me you can't hurt yourself on a tarp.:fl
You poor woman! I had a chicken tractor that had part hanging down to shade the window . I learned that i needed to put bright strips hanging down to remind me to duck. No problem after that.
Hope your head is feeling better!

nice looking for goats
Well in TN we had a 3 sided barn and closed the front in and added a loft. Here i am going to have a lot less goats and they will be smaller. I am going to build the pens inside and a small hay loft. If these guys ever finish this build! They still are not done filling the holes with concrete to keep the poles in place. That's why i call them slackers. Besides the fact they usually work 4 hours a day or less. Ridiculous!
